Think, Eric, Think!

We got a preview of the future here this morning at the office as we fired up the Spotify beta and made a playlist with J Dilla, Forss and Kate Bush in a few short seconds. The thing that wows me the most is that the app is faster than iTunes on my local machine. Repeat, faster than iTunes. And now we’re talking fancy peer-to-peer architectures, special audio codecs, custom databases, etc, etc. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to get Parallels
running properly yet, but this clearly is a reason to do so.

If this thing scales it will be bigger than Skype. Big, big ups to the Spotify team, and I’m looking forward to the Mac version already. More posts will follow.
