Being 100% rational…

…I just pre-ordered the new Radio Head album for £1.00. I don’t think the set-your-own-price scheme is going to work at scale.

Why is £1 more rational than £.1?

  2. Eric Says:

Well, rational as in the neo-classical economics meaning of the word. Which, really, is said with a sprinkle of irony… (I read somewhere you can’t pay less than £1.00, or can you? In which case £.1 is exactly 10 times more rational…)

It’s good to see that my rudimentary view of economics still holds then. I had no problem going to the buy now with a, admittedly ridiculous, price of £.1.

Ah, so I was “irrational”. Which quite nicely highlights one fundamental problem with the strict neo-classical view…
