Thanks for the invite, will check SoundCloud out. I ran a site devoted to new music interfaces for all of 6 months or so, but ran out of time to maintain it (http://www.musicinterfaces.com/).
One thing that struck me about the site that supports the Eno/Byrne project is its failure to properly illustrate what someone will get when they purchase the deluxe Sagmeister version. There’s a text list, but that tiny image – is that a 3d model on the box or just an illustration? Why would I spend $70 without being clear about what I’ll receive in return? It’s a mistake that most online vendors make, possibly something to do with the technological delivery backend prevailing over the visual. As digital takes over and physical music packaging becomes a relatively small market niche, vendors (everyone from Amazon to Boomkat to Cargo) will need to realise that if they want to persuade potential customers to buy physical they’ll need to show the attractiveness of the product.
